I'm new joining the group but have have found the resources on this site a fantastic source of information over many years.
George Cree (1851 - 1932) who lived at Dunmurry in Northern Ireland was my great great grandfather, and Jane Cree was my great great grandmother, so I trace my line from both the Lisburn Crees through George, and the Ballybarnes Crees through Jane's father Andrew Cree.
My great grandmother was Eliza Cree (1870-1955) - the first child of George…Continue

Clearly many of us have individually made significant contributions to Cree family history over the last decades but none more so than Mike Spathaky. The Cree One-Name Study (http://www.cree.name) that he created is a monumental achievement and thousands of those around the world with a Cree ancestry will have consulted it at one time or another. It is difficult to comprehend how many months or perhaps years have gone into…Continue

Hello Trevor and everyone (waves)
I have been intending to join for quite some time but it was one of those things that kept getting lost in the general million jobs per day that is real life. I descend from the Bolsover Cree line which I discovered whilst researching my Cuttell, Hallam, Drabble ancestry. James Cree the son of James Cree and Elinor Edson married Elizabeth Whitehead 24th Nov 1709 in Bolsover, Derbyshire, England and their daughter Mary Cree, (1716-1777)…Continue
Hello, My wife and I bought the old Cree homestead in Jefferson Township this past year. We are looking for more info., Photos and stories of the home and the family that lived here. We have collected a lot of info. and were giving a book of the history of the home by the previous owners. Any info. would be helpful!
Gill and Patty
P.S. We will be posting photos of the house over the next few weeks.
I notice that there is no death date on Line 23b for Jane Cree. She died on 26 September 1918 and is buried in the same grave as her husband George (1851-1932) and her son Arthur (1891-1914) in Belfast City Cemetery - Grave No J1 167.
Jane's age at death was given as 65 which would give her a birth date around 1853.
Their last address is given as Suffolk, Dunmurry, Belfast.
I should just like to take this opportunity to welcome all of those who have recently joined the Cree Family History Network. Over the last few years significant progress has been made in helping individuals trace their own Cree ancestry and the Cree.name website must be one of the most comprehensive family history resources in existence. The male Cree who have undertaken the DNA test have allowed us to prove that many previously unconnected Cree lines are indeed directly related and many…Continue
