Cree Family History Network

The search for your Cree, Crie, Crea, Cre, Crey and Chree origins

Hello there

I am relatively new to this and it is wonderful to see how many Crees there are in the world. I thought we had such a small family but in actual fact , it is huge1 My Great great grandfather was Edward Hodges Cree, Great Grandfather Herbert Eustace Cree and my Grandfather  John Cree and my great aunts Nancy and Doris Cree. My family often stayed with  Hilary ( Gerald Hillary Cree) and his wife Joan)in Devon  when I was little.  When I was older, I have memories of rescuing lambs and Joan looking after them in her kitchen! A bit of a story......My grandfather died when my Mum was only 7 years old so sadly I never knew him but Hilary and Joan and my great aunt Doris, as a result. were important to me.

When Hilary was writing the Cree Journals, my parents provided him with some of Edward Hodges' diaries  and we have some special paintings and other treasured possessions - his quill, compass, graduation certificate from Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.

I would love to hear from any relatives - close or distant, near or far. We now live in New Zealand and moved from Edinburgh 15 years ago where I was studying to be a Veterinary Surgeon ( not a human one like my grandfathers!).

All the best and many thanks for accepting me onto the network .
