May I add my own welcome to the Cree FH Network to Trevor's welcome message? I believe you are a great-granddaughter of Edward Hodges Cree, the celebrated naval surgeon, diarist and painter.

I was privileged to meet your father's cousin Hilary Cree several times in the last few years of his life. He and his wife Joan welcomed my late wife Diana and myself to their home at Totnes while I helped him to complete and publish his family history researches. He had lost his sight by then and had given up hope of his seeing his work published. He gave me the run of his family papers and I found that he had an almost complete book in manuscript form. He dictated to me his own life story which I wrote up as a final chapter of his book which we (the then Cree FHS) published in 1991. He was very pleased indeed! It is now available, as you may know, on-line through the Cree One-Name Study web site at http://www.cree.name (see the Archives Section).

I am so pleased that you have joined the Network and hope that we may correspond further. I am currently in Sydney but have a home in Leicestershire where my wife Marian and I spend the British spring and summer months.
