Cree Family History Network

The search for your Cree, Crie, Crea, Cre, Crey and Chree origins

My great grandfather James Cree was the son of Henry Cree. Edith Hannah Cree is my grandmother.

She was born in Worksop 1872 . Daughter of James Cree and Julia Marples.  Julia Marples was the daugher of George Marples who owned a public house in Worksop called "Butchers Arms".

James Cree owned  a vegetable and fishmongers shop in Worksop in about 1880. He died in 1896.

If anybody has more information or photo`s I would love to hear from them.

June,

It would appear that we were in contact in October 2017 and I hope that you are well. The best person to contact to see if there is any further information on your line would be Mike (Spathaky) because he is the expert on that area.

June,

Welcome to the Cree Family History Network and many thanks for your posting. Mike Spathaky has undertaken an immense amount of research over the years into Line 1: The Bolsover line that stretches back to the marriage of Alexander Mackree and Anna Hancocke who were married on the 11 July 1643 in Bolsover, Derbyshire, England. Alexander and Anna's children were named James Cree and Elizabeth Cree. You will find Line 1: The Bolsover line here:

Clicking on the link will take you to the head of this Cree family tree. Hannah Warren (Cree ID 270) can be found by inserting the ID number in the Quicksearch on the Home Page (http://www.cree.name/home/index.html). The page shows that she married John Cree (Cree ID 269) who was the son of John Cree and Jane Taylor. If you click on the Gold links that will take you to more information on each person.
