At last I am filling you in on my Cree ancestry.I am descended from Alexander Cree and Katherine Clarke who are the earliest ancestors(c 1699)We move down to David Cree and Mary McLeod who had eight children.David, their fifth child married Euphemia Henderson, they had eight children,my great grandfather (David) was their third child(although their first born who died in his first year was named David) David married Almina Aldred and it was in 1875 that they migrated to Australia on" The Northumerland".During this journey Almina was safely delivered of a baby girl(Bathsheba)She had eight more children, the last one being born after her husband's drowning at sea on "The Taramung",a coal steamer that worked along the east coast of Australia. He was the chief engineer.Their fifth born child (my grandfather) married Lillian Carroll. They had three children Edna(who died at age 5) Keith(my father) and Alan.My father married Mavis Head and they had two children Jeffrey and Diana.
I have poem relating to The Taramung and articles from the newspaper archives.
