Katrina,

You may have this information already but Mike (Spathaky) has undertaken a great deal of research on the Australian Cree. I would contact Mike directly through this website.

He has identified Janet Cree (3 April 1829 - 7 January 1907) (Cree ID No 3263) as having married Thomas Dennis. She was the daughter of John Crie and Ann Thompson and her father's Cree/Crie line has been traced back to William Crie in Perth in Scotland in the 1640s.

"Janet Cree was born on 3 April 1829 in Gorbals, Lanarkshire, Scotland.2 She was the daughter of John Crie and Ann Thomson.1 Janet Cree was baptised on 19 April 1829 in Gorbals, Lanarkshire.2

After 1854 Janet Cree and Thomas Dennis were living in Cullenswood, St Marys, Tasmania, Australia.3

On 7 March 1854 she was granted a Ticket of Leave.3

Her husband Thomas Dennis died on 4 September 1901.3

Janet Cree died on 7 January 1907 in St Marys, Tasmania, Australia. "aged 80 years" (She was actually 77.)3,5 She was buried in Cullenswood, Fingal Road, St Marys, Tasmania, Australia.3"

Mike has located a Tasmania convict website that appears to have some useful information including a marriage certificate:
