Hello Trevor and everyone (waves)
I have been intending to join for quite some time but it was one of those things that kept getting lost in the general million jobs per day that is real life. I descend from the Bolsover Cree line which I discovered whilst researching my Cuttell, Hallam, Drabble ancestry. James Cree the son of James Cree and Elinor Edson married Elizabeth Whitehead 24th Nov 1709 in Bolsover, Derbyshire, England and their daughter Mary Cree, (1716-1777)…

I notice that there is no death date on Line 23b for Jane Cree. She died on 26 September 1918 and is buried in the same grave as her husband George (1851-1932) and her son Arthur (1891-1914) in Belfast City Cemetery - Grave No J1 167.
Jane's age at death was given as 65 which would give her a birth date around 1853.
Their last address is given as Suffolk, Dunmurry, Belfast.

I should just like to take this opportunity to welcome all of those who have recently joined the Cree Family History Network. Over the last few years significant progress has been made in helping individuals trace their own Cree ancestry and the Cree.name website must be one of the most comprehensive family history resources in existence. The male Cree who have undertaken the DNA test have allowed us to prove that many previously unconnected Cree lines are indeed directly related and many…

We have recently had to suspend a very new member of the Cree Family History Network because it would appear that they may have been involved in Spamming other members. If you received any unwanted messages our apologies. Hopefully it was contained before too many members were contacted (10th July 2013). I believe that you will not be contacted again by that person since their membership has now been blocked. We try to be very careful when vetting new applications,
Trevor.

During my visit to Ireland last month I managed to copy all the Cree entries from the birth and marriage indexes at the General Register Office, Belfast (GRONI), which took me almost two full 6-hour days. I have now typed these into spreadsheets which I have uploaded to the Datasets section of the Cree Surname web site at http://www.cree.name/indexes/ire.htm alongside the Cree marriages which I extracted last year. This will…

The 100th Annual Cree Family Reunion will be held the 4th Sunday of August, 2013 in Cass County Indiana at the Cree Homeplace (of Samuel Walker Cree). I am looking for any information I can find on Jane Cree, my great grandmother. She was a mormon pioneer and lived in Utah around 1850. She married a man named David Hickman. She was the mother of Ada John, my maternal grandmother that died shortly after my mother was born so I never knew her. My mother was Maurine Hickman who was born in Ogden, Utah in 1917.

I have today rearranged the existing forum discussions on this Cree Family History Network. I have created a number of different Forums for different aspects of Cree family history, including different Cree descent lines. Any member can create a new discussion within any of these Forums, as well as being able to post a reply to others' postings. I hope this will eventually make things clearer even though past postings now show as posted by me. I have added to those a first line stating…

Three marriages took place in which all six partners were descendants of either of two couples. The first couple was John Leslie and Helen Johnstone and the other was James Cree and Christian Graham. The Leslies had two sons John and David Leslie while the Crees had children named David and Janet Cree (among others).
The first Cree-Leslie marriage was between John Leslie (the son) and Janet Cree some time before 1807. They had a son who was a third John Leslie. Meanwhile John's…
