Hello Kath, Thanks for the info and photo. I'll try to follow up my Court line lead; as it happens, the Court I know about also lives in Troon. I'll let you know what happens. Best regards, Gordon.

Hello Kath, Very good to get your message; I was thinking of contacting you. It seems clear that your great-grandmother and my grandmother Elizabeth Cree (#1593; 1872-1936) were sisters. There is another possible interesting connection: Elizabeth married Hugh Henderson (my grandfather) in 1892 in Kilmarnock, one of the witnesses was Flora Cree, probably your great-grandmother who would have been 19 at the time. Furthermore, their eldest child (my aunt), born in 1893, was named Flora. As you know, your great-grandmother married her second husband Thomas Watson Court in 1902 and they emigrated to the USA in 1923 with 3 of their 7 children. I suppose you are descended from the children who stayed behind. It would be interesting to know if the family kept in touch, particularly whether the two sisters, Elizabeth and Flora, kept in contact by letter; I haven't come across any letters.I wonder if you've followed up your Court line. I might have a possible lead for both of us: I believe my father had a cousin by the name of Court living in Ayrshire. I'll try to contact her and see what information she might have. If you are interested, I'll let you know (with her consent) if anything turns up. I'm afraid I can't tell you anything about the brothers you mentioned that isn't already on the Cree family website. They were actually half bothers to Elizabeth and Flora since they were born to Robert Cree's second wife, Diana Brown. I only found out about the Cree website a couple of weeks ago, a pity since I was in Bristol last month for a couple of weeks and we missed the chance to compare notes. Hope to hear from you soon. Best regards, Gordon
