I am Mike Spathaky and I manage the "sister" website at www.cree.name which can be accessed from the link on the green menu bar at the top of this page. (This Cree FH Network site is managed by Trevor Cree.)

The information on the www.cree.name site about the various Cree individuals and families who migrated from Ireland to Pennsylvania in 1770 or thereabouts comes almost entirely from Robert H Cree of Huntingdon, PA.

The person page of your ancestor Hamilton Cree born 1799 is at www.cree.name/person.htm?id=3797. His name was not Hamilton Waites Cree since Waites was his wife's maiden surname. He was indeed the son of James and Isabella Cree.

James and Isabella were both born in Ireland but I believe were married in the USA. We don't know Isabella's maiden name or whether she knew James in Ireland. There is a biography of James written by Robert H Cree at www.cree.name/person.htm?id=3624

James Cree's parents were Robert Cree and Janet Hamilton who married in Ireland and had some of their children there. The family migrated to the USA, as Robert says, some time prior to 1770. Robert's details are at www.cree.name/person.htm?id=3618 and Janet's at www.cree.name/person.htm?id=3619. There are also details of your Cee line in the Family History Section of the website, on several pages starting at
www.cree.name/usa/cumberland.htm with links in GOLD text.

I hope this helps. If you have any further information that you would like to see added to the website or the Database, please let me know.
