Seeking clarity and help if possible. So my mothers maiden name is Cree from Lisburn. I had started looking into my family tree. I stumbled upon Samuel Raymond Cree, play writer from Lisburn. My Uncle is not quite sure if Samuel Raymond Cree is my Grandfathers 1st or 2nd cousin. He had stated that he had been sent a photograph to which he has recently found. The photograph would be my mothers and uncles Great Great Grandparents - on the back it says William and Mary Cree. I am really keen on finding out a lot more, on the forum I have seen a trail that goes way back to William Cree (Farmer) Lisburn and links back through Scotland. My uncle has stated there had been talks when they were younger of family origins in Scotland. I have been on ancestry.com and recently completed the dna test, just awaiting back the results to obtain both my Mothers and Fathers family history. Doing the research myself has been exciting but I am missing a few links and would love to confirm all by seeing pictures and visiting gravesides out of respect. I would love to see how they lived, what they did and how they pushed through this world to be where we are today. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Surnames I know that is linked also would be Gillespie and Dodds. if you would like to see the picture of William and Mary Cree please feel free to ask. After all they could be a picture no one has seen before or a piece to their puzzle that could finally be completed.

The Irish government website at https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/ has recently uploaded a large number Irish birth, marriage and death records. This includes images from the all the registers of the Civil Records of Irish Births, Deaths and Marriages. The process is not complete yet but it's progressing well and has enabled me to create a full spreadsheet of Cree marriages in the Lists Section of the Cree Surname website (http://cree.one-name.net/indexes/index.html)

Access to the images at the Irish Government site is entirely free and they cover the whole of Ireland until the end of 1921 and the Republic of Ireland after that (so not Northern Ireland which has its own system - not free - at GRONI). However the data I have abstracted includes many NI entries as all those from before 1922 are included in the Irish Goivernment records. A numer of post 1922 records from N Ireland seems to have crept in too.

The years covered by the release of the historic records of Births, Marriages and Deaths are:

Births: 1864 to 1919; Marriages: 1845* to 1944; Deaths: 1878** to 1969

I have been able to link the vast majority of the Cree entries to individuals in the Cree Online Genealogy Database at http://cree.one-name.net/genealogies/index.html

For each individual so linked, there is a number in the bright green column of the spreadsheet. This is the CreeID number and you can enter it into any of the bright green search boxes around the website. One click then takes you straight to the relevant Person Details in the Database.

I hope this will be be found useful by members of this Cree Family History Network. I would be very pleased if anyone can contribute to this work by letting me know of further numbers I can add to those bright green columns of CreeID numbers.
Crees of Taralga, NSW, Australiatag:creefhs.ning.com,2019-04-19:6495740:Topic:538042019-04-19T06:00:07.963ZAnnabelle Morrisonhttp://creefhs.ning.com/profile/AnnabelleMorrison

Hi everyone,

I am the daughter of Sheila Mary Cree who is the daughter of William Selby Cree and Rosaline Pearl Whipp formerly of Taralga NSW Australia. I have noticed she is not listed as their child on the Cree One-Name Study site. She was born on 4th September 1939 and is the only remaining child still alive today.

Is it possible to add her to the family information please? I would love to hear from anyone who may know of the Crees of Taralga.

Thank you :)

Their daughter, Sarah Beatrice Howie, who married Andrew Thomas Nelson is my mother.

I never knew George Frederick Valentine Cree as he died before I was born but I did know my great grandmother, Mary Gordon Atkinson, a lovely warm hearted lady, very well as she lived almost facing my grandparents and I used to go in and out of her house a lot when I was visiting my grandparents. She lived until I was in my teens.

I hope this is of some help to you.
John Creetag:creefhs.ning.com,2018-08-12:6495740:Topic:176052018-08-12T22:38:14.382ZAnnabelle Morrisonhttp://creefhs.ning.com/profile/AnnabelleMorrison

First to say how thankful I am for the immense amount of careful work that has and continues to go into the Cree One-Name Study. My wife’s (Caroline nee Robertson) gt-gt-grandmother, Janet Cree (b. 1806 in Abernethy Perthshire to Thomas Cree and Euphemia Jameson) married Alexander Robertson in 1832. My research over the last 5 or 6 years back to Janet’s grandparents (Andrew Crie and Margaret Moris(on) in Abernethy) matches the research recorded in the Cree One-Name Study. Further back in that Cree/Crie family tree, research becomes more speculative - not helped by the fact that the Abernethy baptismal register has only the Father’s name. It does seem probable, from OPR entries, that Andrew Crie’s parents were Johne Crie and Catharine Clark (married 1711 in Abernethy). Has anyone come across evidence that determines Johne Crie’s parents? Is there any documented link to the Perth or Kinnoul/St Madoes Crie/Crees? Thomas Crie and Elspeth Smyth (married in Kinnoul Parish in 1679) are possible candidates, but some researchers suggest that their son married a Marjory Lean in Abernethy in 1804. The problem there is that that John Crie and Marjory Lain had son, George, baptised in Newburgh Nov 1719 (delayed by abt 10 years?!). Any help gratefully received - thanks
